The Antonine Shopping Centre

Cumbernauld

Since purchase Scoop has completed 20 lease renewals and introduced 14 new tenants

In April 2017, Scoop, in partnership with Bridges Fund Management, acquired the long-leasehold interest in the Antonine Centre from a subsidiary of London & Regional Properties.

Providing modern retail offering in the town centre, the development opened in 2007 and provides c. 200,000 sq ft of gross lettable area in 45 shops and leisure units, with occupiers including Boots, TK Maxx, Next and River Island. The Centre benefits from adjacent parking for circa 1,000 vehicles, with an annual footfall of c. 5 million people.
Since purchase, Scoop has completed 20 lease renewals and/or re-gears. A further 11 tenants have opted not to exercise their break options and have remained at passing rents. In Autumn 2019 the Antonine saw the arrival of a new anchor, TJHughes, and a further 13 new tenants have been introduced since purchase. Two additional units have been created and leased to local tenants. Further to this, the management structure at Antonine has been completely over-hauled, remedial roof works have been completed and commercialisation income has been increased by circa 40%.
