The Antonine Shopping Centre

Cumbernauld

During its tenure, Scoop completed in excess of 30 lease renewals and introduced 16 new tenants into the scheme.

Originally conceived as a New Town in the 1950s, Cumbernauld is the most populous settlement in North Lanarkshire and the 8th largest urban settlement in Scotland.

In 2017 Scoop acquired the long-leasehold interest in the Antonine Centre in partnership with Bridges Fund Management.  Providing a modern retail offer in the town centre, the scheme provides c. 200,000 sq ft of lettable area in 45 shops and leisure units, with occupiers including Boots, TK Maxx, Next, Superdrug and River Island.  The Centre benefits from adjacent parking for circa 1,000 vehicles.  Annual footfall is c. 5 million .

With the scheme almost fully let (only one unit vacant) the Centre was sold successfully to a private property company in 2023.
